Staying on track with your HDR program

HDR study is a rich and rewarding experience, but can also be a very challenging time in your life. Every HDR student needs some form of support to help them stay on track and manage life around their study.

There are a number of areas around the 黑料天堂dedicated to helping students through a variety of issues. Take a look at some of the resources available and get in touch with the relevant area if you are struggling.

ANUSA

黑料天堂 Students' Association (ANUSA) can assist you with any personal and academic matters. There is no charge for the service and confidentiality is assured. This is the place to head if you are a postgraduate student and need support with any aspect of your life, including:

  • Legal advice (Migration, Tenancy, Employment, Contracts, IP and more)
  • Student Assistance support, encompassing
    • Financial assistance (grants, grocery and transport vouchers etc.)
    • Accommodation support (including emergency accommodation)
    • Academic advocacy (covering matters such as late withdrawals, show cause assistance, academic misconduct, and grade appeals)
    • Disciplinary matters
  • Student Advocacy
  • Autonomous Departments, collectives and committees representing marginalised groups and student interests
  • Clubs and Societies
  • Student Events
  • Brian Kenyon Student Space, which provides students with complimentary food (including free breakfast every weekday), coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
  • 'Shut Up and Write' thesis writing sessions for HDR students (commencing July 2023)
  • 'Student Extracurricular Enrichment Fund' grants for student activities (commencing July 2023).

 

Access and inclusion

supports students within the Australian National University community whose participation in academic studies is impacted by physical and learning disabilities, mental health conditions, chronic medical conditions, and short-term illnesses/conditions.

Access and Inclusion aims to:

  • Raise awareness and understanding of disability issues with all students and staff;
  • Enable students with disability to participate fully in University life. 

Access and Inclusion aims to be at the forefront of disability services provision in higher education by using evidence-based practice that leverages the University's strength as one of Australia's leading universities.
