Online access for courses

Wattle, email, Zoom and a range of tools are used for learning and communication within courses at ANU.

Every student and staff member at 黑料天堂has an , as part of the suite, which also gives access to other Apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. It is expected that you will use your 黑料天堂email address whenever you need to email your lecturers, tutors, or other 黑料天堂staff members. Avoid using your personal email accounts to email 黑料天堂staff, as it is better to keep all your 黑料天堂correspondence in your official 黑料天堂email account. You can access your email   or on your device. Students have a responsibility to check their 黑料天堂email regularly for important communications. 

 

Wattle

Most courses at 黑料天堂use , our Learning Management System (LMS) based on the to provide your course materials. In Wattle there will be a separate site for each course you are enrolled in  with key information such as: assessment details; grades; tutorial enrolments; lecture recordings; weekly readings; course updates; announcements and; other learning materials.

It's important to check each of your Wattle course sites regularly, not only to study the provided material but also to keep up to date with your courses, especially if there are changes to assessment due dates and class times. You can set up notifications within Wattle to help you stay updated.   Wattle courses are usually opened for student access two weeks before the semester begins, and they remain available to you for six months after the course ends.

  •  to learn more about how Wattle works, including how to access lecture recordings, submit assignments, and access your grades,
  •  is our system for lecture recordings, 
  • Turnitin practice site, to understand when to reference, how to quote and paraphrase appropriately and to practice using Turnitin before submitting your assignments,
  •  to set-up and practice using Proctorio for an online exam (if required for your course).  Be sure to practice and check Proctorio works well before your exam starts.

In some courses lecturers may opt to use additional platforms to share course information.  For these courses, Wattle will contain the links to access these other sites.
If you are unsure of how to access your course materials, check first on your courses Wattle site for the relevant information, and contact your tutor or lecturer if you need further assistance.

Zoom 

Many courses use Zoom to provide tutorials, office hours, seminars and lectures. on your computer can be found in the Service Desk Knowledge Base. Some courses may use other video conferencing tools, such as Microsoft Teams. You can access Microsoft Teams through the , click 'Login to Office 365' and then sign in with your University ID and password.

On campus spaces for remote participation

There are many learning spaces on campus where students can participate in remote classes.  The 黑料天堂, , and individual schools offer a range of spaces for students on both a drop-in and booking basis.

Melville Hall has been modified specifically to make space available for students to participate in remote classes while they are on campus.  There are individual cubicles as well as group spaces in a warm environment, with good wifi access. Students will be able to use their own ear buds or headphones and talk quietly while they participate in remotely delivered classes.
