ºÚÁÏÌìÌà the Consultation

Critical to the success of Renew ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃis strengthening the University's long-term sustainability. To achieve this, the University will continue to focus on refining the University’s operating model—the combination of people, roles, structures, processes, and technology that underpins how we deliver value. This approach to University-wide improvement builds on the realignment activities completed in 2024. It is comprehensive and includes consideration of each service, academic activity and research activity to determine how best to deliver long-term financial sustainability.

Consultation Paper 

ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃstaff, students, and union were invited to provide feedback on the  between 6 March to 21 March 2025. This document outlined the strategic and operational challenges faced by ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃand the proposed responses which includes design principles for the proposed University Operating Model. It detailed the University's overall approach to University-wide improvements and provided the foundation for future discussions by providing an overarching view of the next phase of Renew ANU.

Summary of feedback received 

The University received 145 individual feedback submissions, an open letter signed by 434 staff and additional feedback from the NTEU in response to the consultation process outlined above. The Renew ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ2025 Change Principles: Initial Feedback Summary document offers a themed summary of the feedback received. This document includes three attachments: additional information, the University's response to the open letter, and the WH&S psychosocial risk assessment.

Change Principals Implementation Plan

The Change Principles Implementation Plan outlines the decisions made by the University regarding the proposed changes outlined in the Change Principles Consultation document.

Consistent with our Enterprise Agreement obligations, the University invites comment and feedback on the Implementation Plan. Staff, students, Unions and relevant stakeholders have until COB Friday 2 May 2025 to submit comments or feedback on the Change Principles Implementation Plan to org.change@anu.edu.au

The University will review and consider the comments and feedback it receives and adjust or make amendments, to the extent appropriate, before finalising the Implementation Plan.

Is the Change Principles Implementation Plan finalised?

No, not until the consultation process with staff, students, unions and relevant stakeholders has been finalised.

Are there any changes to individual job roles as a result of the Change Principles Implementation Plan?

No, individual areas will be engaging in a comprehensive review in future, keeping in mind the agreed approach, principles and operating models. Future details about any changes will be articulated in individual change plans at a college, division, or portfolio level and made available for staff consultation.

Information Sessions 

To support engagement in this process, the Provost and COO held four information sessions for all staff. These sessions covered the consultation process and provided an opportunity for staff to ask questions.
