ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃlaunches new reverse vending machine
Bought a soft drink for lunch? Recycle it on campus! Put the 10c container deposit to good use with the new recycling machine on campus, located on the ground floor of the Marie Reay Teaching Centre.
The reverse vending machine accepts and redeems them for cash donations to local charities that were selected by ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃstudents.
The money raised by the machine is split evenly between two local initiatives. The first beneficiary, the , uses their portion of the funds towards their environmental sustainability initiatives. The ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃKitchen Garden uses their funds to improve their garden activities and to engage and serve more ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃstudents.
The ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃFacilities and Services Division manages the machine. It was launched last month in partnership with ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃand Return-It, the ACT government's container deposit scheme partnering company.
